PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) is an easy to mould clear plastic material with about 70% of the impact strength of polycarbonate, but stronger than extruded acrylic or glass.
PETG provides superior heat handling, shock resistance, and comfortable grip. It is more cost-effective than polycarbonate and approaches the clarity of acrylic, which makes it a popular choice of material in more general purpose applications.
- Hot Line Bending
- Hot Gluing
- CNC Routing
- Sheared and sawn
- Drilling and tapping
- Transparent (clear)
- Translucent (tinted)
PETG is only used for indoor applications as it discolours over time with UV (Ultra-Violet) light or exposure to the sun.
PETG Plastic is used to manufacture:
- Machine safety guards
- Clear panel portions
- Machine safety guards in less critical areas
- Dividers between production lines
- Covers for information and display boards
- Log book or various A4 sheet holders
