Duffy Stainless Steel are a manufacturer of stainless steel products based in Castlebar, County Mayo, in the west of Ireland.

With over 40 years of experience, they offer a high-quality and efficient custom metal fabrication service to domestic, commercial and industrial clients.

Duffy Stainless Steel specialises in stainless steel products for the pharmaceutical, medical and food industries, with a full steel fabrication service through to a complete installation service with clean room procedures certification.

Duffy Stainless Steel works closely with each of their clients and offers experienced assistance with the design and planning of initial ideas, taken from the most basic sketch to more detailed professional drawings.

They will produce prototypes, discuss design ideas and provide samples where necessary in order to meet the client’s needs, right through to the manufacture of a high quality end product, either as a one off fabrication or a large batch run.

Company History

In 1977, Tom Duffy founded Duffy Stainless Steel based in a small workshop in Crossmolina, providing precision engineering services exclusively for the ESB Power Station in Bellacorrick and Baxter in Castlebar.

Due to a growing pharmaceutical client base mainly located in Castlebar and Westport, in 1982 Tom Duffy moved operations to a new factory on the Turlough Road in Castlebar. This move ensured the prompt delivery of services, but also allowed the company to expand their business to include on-site maintenance for their valued clients.

To serve a new international client base, including Alexion, Pfizer, Allergan and Baxter, Duffy Stainless Steel again relocated in 1997 to larger premises on the Moneen Industrial Estate, Castlebar.

Even with an ever expanding workforce, Tom Duffy always maintained that Duffy Stainless Steel be operated as a family business. This family structure and philosophy has always ensured attention to detail and pride in every job, no matter the size.

Now in 2022 a new generation of Duffys, along with a dedicated workforce, continue to grow Duffy Stainless Steel into one of the country’s leading engineering specialists.
